Associação Ambiental da Via da Estrela is a registered Portuguese non-profit in Bemposta, Penamacor. We trap, neuter and return the free-living cats of the village, feed the colonies daily and pay for the veterinary care they need — keeping cats healthy and in the territory they know rather than removing them.
Who you would be helping
Every euro becomes food, vaccinations, sterilisations and treatment for injured or sick cats. Each cat we care for has a name and a story, followed by sponsors and neighbours who have come to know them.

The tax advantage (mecenato)
Under Portugal's patronage regime (Lei do Mecenato), donations from companies to recognised non-profits can be deductible for corporate income tax (IRC), often at more than their face value. We issue an official donation receipt for every contribution.
