Associação Ambiental da Via da Estrela is a registered Portuguese non-profit in Bemposta, Penamacor. We trap, neuter and return the free-living cats of the village, feed them daily and pay for the veterinary care they need, keeping cats healthy and in the territory they know rather than removing them.
Who you would be helping
Every euro becomes food, vaccinations, sterilisations and treatment for injured or sick cats. Each cat we care for has a name and a story, followed by sponsors and neighbours who have come to know them.

Where your money goes
Business sponsorship supports the general fund: food, vaccinations, sterilisations and veterinary treatment for every cat in our care. It does not sponsor one named cat. Backing a particular cat is something a person does, and you are very welcome to do that too.
